Successfully founding, leading and managing the growth
and development of a full-service CPA firm from a one
person office to eight professional staff:
Assurance and Information Services: Manage,
direct and oversee financial and compliance audits of
financial statements of businesses in accordance with
GAAP and government and specialized industry audit
guides including Government Auditing Standards or the
Yellow Book; Single Act and OMB Circular A-133, FAR,
EPA, HUD, MHD, and UFR. Oversee incurred cost and
overhead rate audits of architectural and engineering
companies under contracts with MBTA. Perform operational
and efficiency audits of companies including evaluation
and review of accounting systems and processing
procedures to identify fraud, waste and abuse,
inefficiencies and internal control weaknesses and make
recommendations for improvements in systems and
processes. Manage review and compilation of financial
statements of small and medium size businesses.
Management Advisory Services:Develop business
plans and cash flow projections, perform business
valuation, prepare loan syndication, design and install
accounting systems, and provide training to start-ups
and small businesses directly and through contracts with
the City of Boston’s Small Business Technical Assistance
Center resulting in the creation of many jobs. Manage a
multi-year, multi-million dollar contract with DOT’s
Volpe Center to provide contract closeout administrative
services.
Tax Planning and Preparation: Plan and prepare
taxes for individuals and businesses.

Participated and managed several audit, review and
compilation of financial statements of corporations such
as:
Managed the audit and preparation of financial
statements of John Hancock’s Defined Pension and
Contribution Plans with several billions in invested
assets as well as some of its subsidiaries.
Directed the audit and preparation of financial
statements of Metropolitan Area Planning Council, Boston
University Medical Center Research Trust Funds, Trust
Funds of the City of Boston, Self-Insurance Trust of
University of Massachusetts Medical Center and several
real estate partnerships.
Directed and participated in several business
consulting projects including disposition of FDIC-owned
real estate properties, conversion of the Town of
Boxford’s accounting system and improving Child Support
Enforcement for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
